What's in a Name?

Traditionally, the world's most renowned wine-growing regions have been situated between the 30th & 50th parallel of the Earth's equatorial plane. Nestled within this acclaimed latitude band is the Hunter Valley, positioned on the 32nd parallel, from which our name derives.

Latitude 32 draws from the rich heritage of Australia's first wine-growing region, but we're not your traditional winery bound by the rules of the past. We're all about blending tradition with a hefty dose of fun, creating classic Hunter Valley style wines with a contemporary flair. With sustainable viticulture practices close to our heart, our philosophy is to create wines that truly tell the story of place and time, turning everyday moments into extraordinary adventures.

Wake Up & Live The Dream

Emma White, our founder, who is a former corporate finance executive, has always enjoyed drinking great wines with friends. On countless occasions she would enjoy a good yarn over a glass of wine with likeminded, passionate people, dreaming of one day taking control of the process from grape to glass and creating wines they love to drink.

Not one to “talk but never do”, Emma left her corner office overlooking the Sydney Harbour Bridge, purchased a premium 40 year-old established vineyard in Pokolbin and completed her studies in viticulture and oenology. After acquiring a second highly acclaimed vineyard in late 2023, the newly renovated cellar door on Hermitage Road opened in April 2024.

Latitude 32 is the realisation of Emma’s vision and dream – a place where bold ideas, exceptional wine, and lots of fun are had by all.

With 4 ½ stars awarded by James Halliday in only their first year of opening, our Semillon being named as one of the Top 50 white wines to cellar in Australia, and many other awards, Emma has certainly proved dreams can come true. Our story continues to evolve….come and join us on our exciting journey!

Romance Combined With a Lot of Hard Work

Having planted out by hand 1 hectare of own-root stock Shiraz vines in 2021, a further 5 hectares of vineyard will be planted out in 2023.

Focusing on emerging grape varietals which are perfectly suited to the Hunter’s evolving climate, our new plantings will bring exciting new wines for the region, whilst still delivering on the traditional wines we know and love from our existing 40 year-old vines.

To complement our own vineyard, we have access to some premium parcels of fruit from other growers. Having control of the process; from grape to glass.
